About the blog and owner

Hello, and welcome to my blog!

My name is Deja Lovely. I created this blog to help others through my own experience with beauty products. When a new product comes out and the commercials air on television, some people rush to the store to purchase it, while others stay at home wondering “Will it work?” and “Is it worth it?”. I am here to give my readers a good feel on what the product is and does before they spend their money on it.

A little about me and my skin:

I am half Japanese and half African American. I was born and raised in Japan. I have combination skin, but I’m rather oily on my cheeks and nose. I started having acne in the 7th grade, and broke out with my first case of cellulitis (a potentially deadly tissue infection that I have been getting every few months) in the 8th grade. Ever since then, my skin has been far from perfect. With regular black heads and white heads to nodules, it has never been easy to take care of my skin. I’ve gone through all sorts of acne treatments, from Clearasil, Clean and Clear, Neutrogena, Proactiv, and even medication from my dermatologist, nothing seems to really work for my skin. After much trial and error, my skin is finally slowly clearing up through simple changes I’ve made in my life and daily routines, and I know you can too.

A little about me and my hair:

Although I am half Japanese, I still have the texture of African American hair. My natural hair texture is about 4b of 4c. My hair is very thick in its natural state. I used to get $300 Japanese perms every 4-6 months to manage my hair, but clearly, that is expensive! When I straightened my hair by myself, it looked awful. It was puffy at the roots and had sharp looking tips. Now that I know how to take care of my hair better, straightening my hair takes less time, and it looks better! Again, I improved my hair’s texture with simple steps that anyone can do.
